Held

Terms of Service

Last updated: 28 August 2026

1. Who we are

Held is operated by Crane Creative ("we", "us", "our"), based in Australia. These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the Held application and website at familyheld.app (the "Service").

By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

2. What Held does

Held helps households manage family life admin. You can send in captures — screenshots, photos, forwarded emails, PDFs, pasted text and voice notes — and the Service uses AI to extract dates, times, costs, forms and action items for your review.

AI extraction is a drafting aid, not a guarantee. Nothing is added to your household without your approval, and you are responsible for checking extracted details (dates, times, amounts, names) before relying on them. Held is not a source of legal, medical, financial or school-authoritative advice.

3. Accounts and eligibility

You must be 18 years or older to create an account. Accounts are for adults managing a household; children must not create accounts. Content about children (school forms, appointment letters, activity notices) is submitted by the adult account holder, who is responsible for having the authority to share it.

You are responsible for keeping your login credentials confidential and for all activity under your account. During early access, account creation requires an invite code.

4. Households and sharing

You can invite other adults to your household with a join code. Anyone you invite can see the captures, items and people in that household. Only invite people you trust with your family's information.

Household admins are responsible for the members they invite and for removing members who should no longer have access.

5. Billing, trials and plans

Held offers a free tier and a paid subscription: Held Family at $12.99 AUD/month or $99 AUD/year. Prices are in Australian dollars and include GST where applicable. Held Plus is announced but not yet available — it cannot be purchased, and any pricing shown for it is indicative only until it launches.

New paid plans begin with a free trial period. No card is required to start a trial. If you do not subscribe before the trial ends, your household moves to the light free tier — your data is never deleted on downgrade.

Paid subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled. You can cancel any time through the customer portal in the app; access continues until the end of the paid period. Payments are processed by Stripe; we never see or store your full card details.

We may change prices for future billing periods with reasonable notice. Grandfathered early-access households retain the access promised to them at the time.

6. Your content

You retain ownership of everything you capture or upload. You grant us a limited licence to store, process and transmit your content solely to operate the Service — including sending it to AI processing providers to extract information on your behalf.

You must not upload content you have no right to share, content that is unlawful, or content that infringes another person's privacy or intellectual property.

You can delete items, captures and your account. Deleting your account removes your personal content from our active systems, subject to backup retention cycles.

7. Acceptable use

You agree not to misuse the Service: no attempting to access other households' data, no probing or disrupting our systems, no uploading malware, no scraping, and no using the Service to store or distribute unlawful material.

We may suspend or terminate accounts that breach these Terms, with notice where practicable.

8. Service availability and changes

We aim for a reliable Service but do not guarantee uninterrupted availability. Reminders, notifications and digests are aids — they can be delayed or fail, and you should not rely on Held as the only reminder for critical deadlines (for example, legal or medical deadlines).

We may add, change or remove features over time. If a change materially reduces a paid feature, we will give reasonable notice.

9. Liability

To the extent permitted by law, the Service is provided "as is". Nothing in these Terms excludes rights you have under the Australian Consumer Law that cannot be excluded.

Where our liability can be limited, it is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim, or, if you are on a free plan, AUD $100.

We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, including missed events or deadlines arising from reliance on extracted information or notifications.

10. Privacy

Our handling of personal information is described in our Privacy Policy, which forms part of these Terms.

11. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of South Australia, Australia. Courts in South Australia have non-exclusive jurisdiction.
